One of my classic lenses is the SMC 50mm 1.4 which I bought when I purchased my first Pentax ME way back when. That lens is a beauty for sure. So, why would I buy a 50mm F4? Only because it is a close-up lens as well as a prime lens. I took it for a walk yesterday and find it does a pretty good job up close.
